UPDATE JANUARY 13, 2018 – The KLPS you’ve come to know and love is now PNN ONE Palm Springs! Local TV online, on mobile devices and more! Get ready for major expansion to the all-new PNN ONE Palm Springs!
Television is changing by leaps and bounds. The way we watch has changed too. The all-new KLPS TV is a local IP community network that promises to bring community news, entertainment, shows and more to the Coachella Valley. We are utilizing new technology that allows us to present longer, more in depth local coverage compared to the standard terrestrial “live remote” coverage.
Rather than present the viewer with an average 2-minute, live breaking news piece; KLPS TV is in the position to stay on the story, event or entertainment much longer. So when the terrestrial, over-the-air, cable stations are finished with their coverage; KLPS continues to run live (in most cases) for the entire event.
Did you miss our live coverage? We always have on-demand programming that takes you back to the beginning so you can watch it at your convenience.
RETRO TELEVISION
KLPS TV provides entertainment from days gone by. Now you can watch some of your favorite comedies no matter where you are. Watch on your desktop computer, tablet, smart phone 24-hours a day. A great way to get through that workday, waiting at the airport or anywhere you need some great entertainment.
LOCAL, EXCLUSIVE PROGRAMMING
Mixed in with our retro programming is exclusive local TV programs and series that can only be seen on KLPS TV. Programming that’s been in production for the past 10 years; range from cooking shows, reality shows and music series programs. It’s a great mix of local community programming and well-known national series.
HOW DID WE COME UP WITH THE NAME “KLPS 19”?
KLPS-LP is a low-power television station in the Coachella Valley, California (or the Palm Springs-Indio Nielsen ratings television market), broadcasting locally over-the-air in analog on UHF channel 19. The station has been silent since April 17, 2008, since being acquired by HDTV, Inc as the new owners needed to relocate the transmitter and main studio. The Special Temporary Authorization (STA) from the FCC was valid until October 17, 2008.[1]
In 2009, PNN Media Group partnered with HDTV, Inc to reactivate the transmitter to bring local community programming over-the-air and online. PNN Media Group would cover the IP part and HDTV, Inc would handle the terrestrial portion. Because of financial reasons as well as re-evaluating the market; it was decided not to move forward with the terrestrial portion of the project and implement the IP division. So the last few years have been spent focusing on technology trends, consumer electronics, the IPTV industry and the latest broadcast products.
Get ready for an all-new way to view your local community through the eyes of KLPS TV.
